Make virtual reality experiences more inclusive

Authentically representing people of all shapes, sizes, and abilities is essential for creating truly inclusive virtual reality experiences. To achieve this, we gather data from participants wearing various outfits, including undergarments, to accurately capture natural body movements and proportions. Here’s how you can prepare for your session.

Bring seasonal outfits

Bring three outfits that represent different seasons. For example, fall options might include cardigans, pants, and boots, while summer choices could be dresses or skirts. During the session, you’ll quickly change into these outfits as needed.

Prepare for minimal clothing

One part of the session involves wearing minimal clothing. Please wear undergarments with similar coverage to the ones shown above. For women, sports bras and underwear are suitable; for men, boxer briefs or briefs are ideal.

Wear accessories

Please bring your own accessories, such as belts, watches, necklaces, hats, gloves, rings, hair clips, and similar items, as these will be required during the session. You may also be asked to wear additional accessories during the session.

Your participation plays a vital role in setting a new standard for inclusivity in virtual reality technology.

At Project Avatara P2, our goal is to create realistic and inclusive virtual reality experiences that reflect the diversity of human movement and appearance. To do this, we collect data in various outfits, including full-coverage undergarments, to ensure the movements and representations are natural and authentic.

Your participation helps in two important ways:

Accurate body modeling:
Virtual reality environments need to reflect natural human movement, realistic proportions, and proper clothing fit across different scenarios. Loose or bulky clothing can obscure body contours and compromise the quality of the data. By wearing minimal, form-fitting clothing like full-coverage undergarments, we can capture your natural movements and body contours more effectively.

Inclusive representation:
To create experiences that are inclusive and relatable, we collect diverse, real-world data. This ensures virtual reality environments reflect a wide range of body types, movements, and expressions. Your contribution helps eliminate biases and improve inclusivity, making virtual experiences more engaging, personalized, and welcoming for everyone.

Your comfort and privacy are our top priorities. All sessions are conducted professionally, with stringent measures in place to securely protect your recordings.
