Withdraw your earnings via local bank transfers or platforms such as PayPal, Payoneer, Airtm, and more. Learn how to set up your payment method, approve your hours to confirm payment, and then withdraw your earnings.

Set up your payment method

Before you can receive payments, you’ll need to complete the following steps to ensure your payment method is correctly configured.

1. Confirm your address

▷ On the main page of your dashboard, click “Choose how you get paid.”
▷ Read the brief description on what to expect and click “Continue.”
▷ Confirm that your address is correct or submit a request to update your address.

2. Verify your mobile number

▷ Enter your mobile number.
▷ Get your One-time Password (OTP) via text message or a call.
▷ Verify your mobile number.

3. Select your default payment method

▷ Click your preferred payment method.
▷ Fill in the required details, such as your bank account number or email address.
▷ Set it as your default payment method.

*The details you need to provide may vary depending on the payment method you select.

Important: Please ensure that your payment provider can receive funds in USD (or your selected currency), and that your account is active and verified. For example, PayPal accounts must be fully verified to receive funds. Payments cannot be processed until a default method is set up correctly.

Enter your hours to get paid

System-generated hours (tracked automatically) and self-reported hours (entered by you) are viewable in your dashboard. System-generated hours are usually visible in your Unpaid Transactions view starting the week before payments are made. You can enter your self-reported hours as you work. Payments are processed monthly, typically in by the 14th of the following month.

Disputing payments

If you believe your payment is incorrect, please:

  1. Note that dashboard values may be slightly higher than received amounts due to payment provider fees. Learn more here.
  2. Review your payment breakdown in “View Details”, as adjustments for previous months may appear separately.
  3. Double check your logged hours and pay rate.

To dispute hours or units worked, submit a ticket here with the subject: #Dispute[Month] – [Project Name].

For example, for a September dispute on “Example” project:
#SeptemberDispute – Example.

Take time-off

Maintaining work-life balance is important. If you’re feeling unwell or have a family holiday coming up, add a personal comment and let us know. We’ll take note and plan the work accordingly.

Add a personal comment

▷ Go to the current work day view and click the (i) icon in the system-tracked hours row.
▷ Click “Personal issues”.
▷ Leave a comment to inform us that you’ll be taking time off.
▷ Click “Save as draft.”

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Payments will be credited by the 14th of each month, covering the previous month’s earnings.

If you need to update your address, simply click the “Change Request” button to make the update. During the payment setup process, you’ll be prompted to confirm both your address and mobile number.

To change or add a default payout method, go to the Payments tab on the left panel of your dashboard and select Withdrawal Methods. Alternatively, click “Choose how to get paid” on the main dashboard page, then select Withdrawal Methods.

You can see the expected payment amounts starting the week before payments are made.

Reconciliation is completed at the end of the first week of each month to confirm the final amounts to be paid to all contributors.

Yes, all existing Appen independent contributors must set up a payment method on the CrowdGen platform, even if you have previously done so on Appen Connect. Depending on your country of residence, you may be able to use your existing accounts.

No, you don’t need to create a new account. You can continue using your existing Payoneer account as long as you add it as the withdrawal method in CrowdGen. Simply select Payoneer as your payout method in the previous step and enter your existing account details.
